I strongly feel that if you start again and watch the whole thing from the beginning with the assumption that Sherlock is gay and John could very well be bisexual, then it seems like, all along, we have been watching a show about a detective who is, incidentally, gay. There is no need for a conspiracy to read it that way, it’s hard to unsee it once you throw off the notion of heterosexuality as a default or “normal” setting.
